For those of you that are new here to Harwich Tri, this bit of news won’t be of huge impact. To those of you that have raced Harwich Sprint Triathlon before, you may be pleased to hear that we have made some changes to the 5k run route. We hope you will enjoy racing on the new course, that eliminates the majority of the grass, takes in the water station twice, and is actually an accurate 5k! Please familiarise yourself with our Course Maps page to see the new route!
Details of the new route:
Run out of transition, through the bollards, towards the playing fields.
Turn left and run along the fence of the all-weather pitch to the corner at the Rugby Club.
Turn left at the Rugby Club and run along the track to the access road between the beach huts where you reach the promenade.
Turn right onto the promenade, all the way along to the end at the gate by West End car park.
Do a U-turn at the West End car park gate and run back along the promenade.
Run all the way along the promenade, to the bottom of the Cliff Park slope.
Turn left up the slope, keep left and turn back on yourself and run down the Ambulance Slope, back onto the promenade.
Run all along the promenade until back to the access road between the beach huts.
Follow the start of the route in reverse, turning right off the Prom and onto the access track, left along the path to the Rugby Club, right around the back of the Rugby Club, along the fence of the all-weather pitch.
Then just follow the cheers into the finish line!
